Ready for export Honey From Ethiopia
After the agreement signed in 2013 between USAID, Zembaba and MATRUNITA MEDITERRANEA in Ethiopia, Parodi’s Foundation facilitated a grant for 50% of the costs of a modern processing equipment to increase Zembaba’s honey quality and capacity to export. As well, capacity building to improve production technology in a honey processing plant - the first of its kind in Africa - has been provided by MATRUNITA MEDITERRANEA’s experts.
October 13rd , Zembaba started filling successfully the barrels to complete the first container to export. The significance of this milestone cannot be underestimated. With this new technology already performed Zembaba could potentially triple honey’s export market within next 3 years and Parodi’s Foundation and MATRUNITA MEDITERRANEA together with USAID will support to achieve this aim.
